Andrew Aponick: Power Man with Power Mind

It's the beginning of a video on Allamericanguys.com: A basketball field. A young muscleman is concentrated and is looking to the basket. He starts playing with the ball and running to the basket. Faster and faster. He comes close to the basket, jumps, stretches his right arm, throws the ball and - narrow: The ball is bouncing at the egde of the basket. Andrew takes it easy. He knows that he can do it better. A cool guy. He smiles, is kidding and instantly goes back for a next try.

Expert in muscles

Basketball is only one of Andrew Aponick's passions and talents. Besides golf, wakeboarding and boating the 26 year old fitness and fashion model (height: 5' 10", weight: 180 lbs) is above all working out. Andrew is an expert in muscles. He's an expert in muscles in two ways.

First: his own physique. In contrast to many other gym guys and bodybuilders Andrew has no body part which is less muscular. Perfect proportions. All fits: massive back, shoulders, pecs, abs and legs. Above all his arms are huge. Probably about 18 inches. Armwrestling with him may hurt.

Secondly:
His powerful body is complemented by a powerful mind. All his training is based on comprehensive, theoretical knowledge. Andrew is exercise physiologist, a certified strength and conditioning specialist, and graduate student at Columbia University in Manhatten studying for his masters in physiology, nutrition and kinesiology, the study of muscles and their movements.

Therefore this man knows exactly what he's doing when hitting the iron. You get an impression of his knowledge when you watch his videos on Allamericanguys.com and his workout DVD of RealworkoutsInc.com There he's explaining his exercises, what muscles he's training and why and how.

Popping muscles

And you get an impression of Andrew's strength. The chest presses on a vid of AAG: After each repetition he breathes out intensively, grasps. The last repetiton: Andrew groans, feels the burn, the pain. He tries even one more rep with all his strength: He makes it...at least a half one. Andrew is exhausted, but not longer than a few seconds. While breathing deeply, he explains that triceps is at least as important for big arms as biceps. Then a smile, a joke, some flexing, and the next weight and set.

His versatility: self-made

Strong, witty, versatile: This mixture is Andrew's way. Especially his versatility is amazing: Andrew is a self-made man. He has started a small personal training company that has clients and trainers operating throughout New York City and Long Island. His homepage - www.andrewaponick.com - is in the pipeline.

Back to the basketball field in the video: Ten minutes later. Andrew is drinking from a water bottle. He stretches, limbers up. One more try. He takes the ball, starts again running to the basket. He jumps and - a hit! Surely not the last one in his life.
