Benjamin Loehrer: Big and Laid-Back

All images copyright (c) PumpingMuscle.com

Benjamin Loehrer has the physique every workout enthusiast is dreaming of: very big, perfect proportions, wonderful esthetics. It's the entire package: Every single muscle flows in the next muscle.

The 19-year-old muscle man can already exhibit impressive sports and bodybuilding achievements:
Certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine
CPR and AED certified
2008 Teen Nationals, 4th Place
2008 Flex Wheeler Classic, Overall Teen
2007 NPC Gopher State Classic Teen Champion
2007 NPC Natural Classic Teen Champion
2006 South Dakota Power Lifting Regional Champion
2006 South Dakota Power Lifting State Champion
Seven years hands-on training experience

On three excellent DVDs from PumpingMuscle.com (Gym 1, Gym 2, and Photo shoot) Benjamin Loehrer is talking about his workout and the life of a bodybuilder. You see that Benjamin is not only big, but also clever and smart, and above all very relaxed. It's great fun to watch him explaining his approach to bodybuilding while he is sitting on a bench in his gym and eating green beans, which is his fifth meal of six meals for today. This is cool, and informative.

Many workout enthusiasts complain of having no gains and justify it with bad genetics. But Benjamin says: "Definitely genetics has a part to play. But you have to eat consistently all the time. Lean beef, chicken, fish, potatoes, rice." He emphasizes that quality of food is decisive: "Good carbs, good proteins, good fat. But I definitely don't diet hard core all the time. I enjoy eating. I enjoy pastas. And you have to train as hard as you possibly can, every single workout. Then you see your gains, because without proper nutrition you don't have the fuel for the workouts, and without the workouts you never build muscle."

But can a young bodybuilder be as big as Benjamin without supplements? "I really don't use any supplements at all, usually just some protein. And now I've been taking a fat burner for a few weeks. I never recommend supplements to people. The only reason for protein is: It's an easy, quick way to get protein throughout the day. But stuff like steriods is not worth, because it's dangerous."

Imagine a muscle-bound guy like Benjamin going along the street. Does he get more positive or more negative attention from people? Benjamin: "It's probably 50 to 50 per cent. A lot of people respect you. They say: "Wow, you are a big dude! You play football?" This is fun. But some are jealous of you. They think you are a steroid freak. This can be annoying. But once they get to know me, they see that I'm just laid-back." And how about attention from girls? "It's nice to have girls' attention. They say: "Oh my God, show me your arms!" That is why I often stay covered up, because my girlfriend can get jealous. (He smiles) My girlfriend is more into me than into my biceps."

Benjamin is not only lifting weights and competing. He is currently building up his own personal training business which can be contacted on the website 4acompletebody.com. He says: "As a certified personal trainer and competitive bodybuilder, it's very rewarding to see other people achieve their fitness goals. I enjoy educating others with current fitness techniques, knowledge and positive motivational support to help people look and feel great."

On 4acompletebody.com he tells about his background and his way to bodybuilding: "I grew up in rural South Dakota and recently transplanted to the Twin Cities. Growing up in a rural environment instilled in me a strong work ethic and powerful integrity. Since moving to the Twin Cities, I have a new found appreciation for the culture and community. I began training with weights to become bigger and stronger for football in junior high school, found a passion for it, and I have been training ever since."

And you learn his philosophy for training: "Properly training the body begins with the core and branches throughout the body. Starting with moderate intensity and simplicity, then working into tougher workouts and heavier weights is the most effective and safest way to reach one's fitness goals. These goals can be to lose a few pounds or enter a competition." Knowledge and experience - Are you still unsure whether consulting Benjamin? Just look at him: The man must be right!

Benjamin Loehrer on PumpingMuscle.com: Strong in All Respects - A DVD Review

After watching the three DVDs of PumpingMuscle.com with Benjamin Loehrer, I was sure: These are the best workout DVDs I have ever seen. The special advantage of the DVDs from PumpingMuscle.com is: Time. When watching the three DVDs - Gym 1, Gym 2, and Photo shoot, each of them two hours long - you get the feeling of spending three complete days with Benjamin Loehrer. There aren't any short cuts. The camera runs and runs, and shows everything. Some people may find it boring - I find it excellent.

On the DVD "Photo shoot" you learn how a professional shooting works. You see Benjamin posing, you hear the photographer's instructions, you notice every correction and change of position. Impressive!

On the DVDs "Gym 1" and "Gym 2" you see Benjamin's workout in detail and in full length. It is a full-body workout: uppper body, lower body, cardio, stretching, posing. The DVDs do not show only one set of each exercise but all sets, and Benjamin does many of them!

Exercise 1: Preacher curl

Always when you are sure that this was his last repetition, Benjamin does one more, all-out, two more, even three more, and - four and five more. He groans loudly, gasps for breath, until he finally lets the heavy weight go down, totally exhausted and sweaty. Sensational! "I definitely enjoy the pain", he says while breathing deeply.

Exercise 2: Leg extension and stretching

On the two gym DVDs Benjamin does not only perform exercises. Between the sets he explains the combination of various exercises for a special muscle group, the effective execution of an exercise, the function of negatives, the correct way to breathe during an exercise, the importance of stretching. And then he poses a lot to show the gains. Wow!

Benjamin's physique is so imposing, because all muscle groups are equally big. "My best body parts probably are my legs, and my chest. But I definitely don't have a favorite body part."

He also talks impressively about his life as a bodybuilder. He likes getting attention. "When I was younger, I was a class clown, and I took part in high school plays. I've done a commercial, some modeling, and bodybuilding shows. I love standing on stage and having everyone just see my development. I love that feeling. I definitely enjoy performing. I definitely enjoy the camera."

However it's difficult to live a normal life style and getting ready for a bodybuilding show at the same time, he admits. "It can be hard for a relationship with a girlfriend. It happens that my girlfriend says: "Let's go out!", and I answer: "I eat my fish first, and then we can go out." But it's manageable."

And his plans for the future? "I may do some modeling and acting a little bit more. But I stick to bodybuilding definitely, and keep my focus in the gym. My favorite part of bodybuilding is the training. I just have a really good feeling when I am in the gym."

The three DVDs with Benjamin Loehrer (Gym 1, Gym 2, Photo shoot) are available on PumpingMuscle.com.

He says he likes to make people laugh. He didn't think he had the look for modeling, but enough people told him he should try it and so he's giving it a shot.

Some of Gary's hobbies include fishing, riding dirt bikes and weight lifting.
